Well, this crazy week is finally winding down for me. I am sitting on my couch looking around at this mess and wondering how a home can get so dirty after just a week of neglect? I also have to wade through a load of e-mails, so if you’re waiting to hear from me, please be patient.
Anyway, I thought after yesterday’s post (that had a very “Anthro- esque” feel) that I would continue the theme and take a look at Anthropologie’s new fall windows! 🙂
Generally, Anthro’s displays are a little more abstract and less literal. But this time around, many stores used actual materials found in nature to give the windows an earthy and organic feeling. Enjoy the inspiration! 🙂
This window (above and below) is located in Palm Beach Gardens, FL! I absolutely love the idea of weaving branches together. We don’t have a lot of birch trees around Tulsa, so I’m wondering how I could get my hands on some? I think this installation would be an amazing temporary wall in a home or backdrop for a wedding! 🙂
This window was created by the display coordinator in Austin, TX! It appears that he/she painted real leaves to give the window a vibrant, almost neon coloring. For some reason I always like the installations where the materials are grouped really close together and then begin to disperse and taper off. I love that this display is both graphic and organic at the same time.
This window, found in Indianapolis, IN, combines both real leaves and recreated paper ones. I love the perfectly lined leaves on the window that give the installation some really cool depth. And I always like when a display has a cool color palette and then a touch of warmth thrown in. The orangey-red dress, bird, and leaf grouping add a great pop!
Have you ever seen those cool 3-D topography maps? This window is like a blown up version of one of those! Super cool, right? I love, love all the layers and the composition of the display. This beauty is found in Pittsburg, PA.
This window makes me think of the movie, “The Matrix.” It feels very sci-fi. Once again love the cluster of material that gradually starts to disperse! This look comes from the Anthro store in Tigard, OR.

Wow! I am always in awe of the windows the visuals that Anthro puts together. I like urban too, but there’s just something magical about Anthro’s. Anyway, that topography instillation is amazing! It would be perfect for my bf’s brothers house. He’s a big outdoorsy nature nerd and has a lot of map and mountain range posters up, but I think would be a nice piece that doesn’t screen “I bought all my art at the visitor center at such and such national park”. Love it!

Anthro Coordinators and interns must have the patience of saints. Come on, you can’t tell me painting all those leaves and tying string around 500+ rocks doesn’t make you want to rip your hair out. Those installations look great though, more power to them.

Ha, yes Rachel! Some displays can be extremely daunting. But at least when I was there I felt like all the work was worth it when everything was finally in place and you got to step back and look at this awesome thing that you created. 🙂
