ARDEX and Lulu Lemon

ARDEX and Lulu Lemon

Hey there and happy Friday!  Today I am posting a little project that I did for Lululemon.  Lulu called me because they had seen one of my ARDEX projects and thought it would create the perfect look for one of their stores opening in Oklahoma City.

The Lulu designers planned on having a sink area in the middle of the store where customers could freshen up and cool down with a sip of water.  They wanted the area to feel clean, calming, and stylish.  Here’s the area before Tim and I got our ARDEX on…

And here is the panel after we applied our ARDEX finish and all the fixtures were added….

To further enhance the calming vibe Lulu was going for, they asked me to emboss the word “breathe” onto the surface….

The embossing is just slightly darker…not calling to much attention to itself, but being a gentle reminder to calm yourself.  I definitely think the tone on tone effect was the right choice here.

I just love the look of troweled concrete.  ARDEX feels organic and soft to me even though concrete generally makes a space seem cold and hard.  Maybe it’s the hand troweled marks that give me a warm, fuzzy feeling.  Knowing the hands of a skilled artisan worked that concrete until it became as smooth as silk….yeah…..I’m smitten with ARDEX.

You can find more ARDEX projects here and ARDEX products here.  And remember when things get crazy and life gets tough,

Everything will be ok.  ‘Til Monday friends! 😉

I love this! I also love lululemon… I always find their store displays fantastic and it’s great stop where I can fill my water bottle. The more Ardex projects I see the more I feel like using it myself…
