COMMISSION YOUR LOCAL CRAFTSMAN

COMMISSION YOUR LOCAL CRAFTSMAN

Remember a couple of weeks ago when we took you through Mat and Kelsey’s home tour? Well these friends of ours recently asked Tim to build a vanity for their guest bathroom. They had seen this looker (below) at Restoration Hardware, but thought that price tag was way too high. Tim, being the talented craftsman he is, was happy to help out our friends and add another piece to his portfolio.

Because Tim wanted to be absolutely sure the Hency’s were happy with the end product, he did a virtual sketch of the piece.

Then he got to work and wa-la! An custom piece that looks similar to Restoration Hardware’s Hutton Single Console Sink ($1350) but was adjusted to suite the couple’s specific requests.

Kelsey’s promised to send us some pictures once they have the space gussied up with accessories and accents, but for now you can appreciate this fine piece of furniture!
So, the moral of this post is “Take the time to contact a local wood-worker!” They usually can save you a lot of money and you will have the satisfaction of knowing you helped support a person/family rather than a corporation. With that said, Tim is available to design, build, and/or modify any piece of furniture that you’ve got your eye on!

Kara, I couldn’t agree more! My husband is in the same business! You get great craftsmanship and support a small business’ family. 🙂 Beautiful sink!
