Crushing on Terrariums

Crushing on Terrariums
This weekend I did a little research and a lot of shopping for a project I am working on. For this particular project I am thinking of DIYing my own terrarium. Not only could these indoor plantings be great for my project but they could also help cure my “its hotter than hatdes outside” blues. With 110 degree heat being the norm this summer, everything in my yard is d-e-a-d. Maybe bringing some nature indoors is exactly what I need to do!
Here are a few terrariums photos that I found particularly inspiring!

This DIY place card holder terrarium (above) was used to make a wedding even more memorable.

Love this hanging terrianium that reminds me of a modern birdhouse. I love that the way it hangs from a knotted rope!

Ok, so I love that this this terranium uses a recycled lightbulb! Great idea!

This terrarium caught my attention because of its non-traditional placement. Plus the lighting in this photo is just gorgeous!

And of course a cluster of terrariums makes for a beautiful vignette.

And because I can’t resist a vintage canning jar, here’s a Mason Jar Terrarium. The blue glass against the green plantings and white sand makes for a lovely look.
So, I plan to create my own planting this week and then I’ll post the step by step DIY tutorial so you too can get in on the fun!
Also, I have more developments to fill you in on this week. Stay tuned, exciting things to come!
