One of my favorite things about writing a blog is the fact that I get to share all my projects with people! Every once in a while I wonder if I’ve still got it when it comes to inspiring others with what I’m doing. It feels so great when I hear from any of you saying that Yes, in fact I have inspired you even to the point of taking on your own projects! Here are a few photos of some things my talented readers of taken on!
The first project I wanted to share came from Jessie– she sent me a lovely little e-mail that read like this:
“Just wanted to let you know that I was so inspired by your mason jar chandelier that I had to make my own. There is a flea market near where I work, so during my 30 min lunch break I drove there & picked up the blue ball mason jars. The base of the chandelier is an old metal shelf I found in my grandfathers tractor shed. I have childhood memories of when he would use the shelf to organize the tomatoes he picked from the garden. I love the aqua color and the rust adds so much character. I hung the chandelier in my newly painted bathroom. The 12 ft. ceilings really allow the light to cast a dramatic shadow on the walls. At the moment I only have one bulb – although I wired it for 4 bulbs. I really have to make a run to the store 🙂
Thanks for the inspiration!
Absolutely Jessie! And thank you for returning the inspiration! Everyone take a look at Jessie fantastic, character filled creation!!!
This next project comes from Harriet’s Place. Ms. Harriet decided that she wanted to try her hand at a tufted ottoman. After following my instructions for the top and putting her own spin on the legs, she came out with this very contemporary looking piece! Nice job, Harriet!!
The lovely couple of
Landon Jacob Photography also decided to try their hand at the
tufted ottoman how-to and ended up with a beautiful finished product! Isn’t their home just lovely!? You can catch the feature I did of their incredible kitchen makeover
here!
And lastly, the
lacy dresser that completed for Ida Red inspired one of
Emily’s friends to do a more dramatic version! I LOVE it!!!!!!
Well that’s all the inspiration I have for today- back with more tomorrow!! And because I haven’t said it in a really long time. . . Remember, do what you love!
thanks so much kara – you are the source of great inspiration for all of us mere mortal diy-ers, xo harriet
