My Anthro Displays- Shutter Style Bed

My Anthro Displays- Shutter Style Bed
Today I get to share another Anthro display with you! Some of you may think that I am just a designer and that Tim does all the building and heavy lifting. But I am proud to say that when I need to, I can wield all sorts of saws and build something from the ground up. And that was the case with this shutter headboard/wall. Of course, I would have loved to have Tim there to help me out, but my new job requires a little more independence. πŸ™‚ Here’s what I designed and built!

As you can see, we used a whole bunch of shutters and some beautiful bright paint to create the look.

I built in the floating shelf on the left side and then balanced it out by hanging the three pendants on the right. I made the pendants from some vases that Anthro sells.

Don’t you love that bedding?!

In case you haven’t noticed, very bright neon-esque colors are back in style! That’s why we went with this chartreuse color to cover the shutters. It is actually the exact same color of the Anthro card. So, if you like the hue enough to color match it, just run to your local Anthropologie and sign up for a card (don’t worry Dave Ramsey followers- it is not a credit card). πŸ™‚
A few close-ups of the shelf area!

And here is a close-up the vases turned pendant lights! I think I’m in love with these!

The back of the headboard/wall also acts as a place to show off product- here’s a quick look.

And there you have it, another completed display!
It definitely took a team to execute this vision. First, I designed and built the main structure and design elements (shutter wall, floating shelf, pendant lights) with my new friend Mekkena. Then, my Visual Manager (Katherine) came in and decorated the shelf, chose the bedding, and placed all the product on the back. It’s so fun working with other artistic people that bring great ideas and suggestions to the table! I am learning to collaborate and I really like it! πŸ™‚

This is AMAZING! I absolutely love the shutters. It makes me want one of my very own. Thank you for always thinking out of the box and creating one of a kind unique designs that never fail to inspire. Everything you put your hands to turns beautiful.

Fun! I love the Z Z Z! I’m curious, what do you guys do once it’s time to change displays? do you tear it all down and reuse (like save the shutters in this instance) or does it just get tossed or what?!

  4. Shelley

It is all beautiful! Did you have to drill holes in those vases? I am working on a large light for my dining room with some old vinegar bottles. Do you have to have a drill press?

Wow! Thanks for all the positive feedback friends. You can’t imagine how happy it makes me! Now, lets see if I can answer your questions.

Chelsea and Yanet- When it’s time for a new display we keep the things that we think we can reuse and trash the things that we probably won’t use or take too much storage space. Sometimes we also donate displays, although I am not sure about the rules of donations.

Shelley- I do not have a drill press. Due to my agreement with Anthro, I cannot tell you how I made those vases turned lights. But I can make some of my own here at my house and I will certainly get a tutorial on that for you asap! πŸ™‚

Emily- You are so sweet! Anthro gives me such a unique opportunity to create unique designs every day and I am certainly grateful for that- hopefully they are also grateful for what I bring to the table! πŸ™‚ I think they are.

Really- Thanks to everyone for the incredibly nice comments. I am on cloud 9!
