Thank You Soldiers

Thank You Soldiers

I know a lot about sacrifice, selfish sacrifice that is. So far in my life I have only had to sacrifice what I kind of want for what I really want. I know nothing about the sacrifice that the men and women of our armed forces make every day. They lay down their lives, their dreams, their relationships for the greater good, the freedom of all. I am amazed, inspired, and so very grateful that they are willing to fight not only for our freedoms here, but for the people that don’t have a voice or power in other places throughout the world.

THAK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU men and women of our armed forces and THANK YOU to their families. I cannot imagine sending my husband, brother, or father off to a place when I wasn’t sure that they would return. Your strength and your love for others is immeasurable. Somehow you manage to see the bigger picture and you do what must be done. Although “thank you” could never be enough, know that I will live my life taking advantage of all these wonderful things that you fight for, and I will do it with a grateful heart.
I will worship my Lord, I will go after my dreams, I will help those around me, I will help myself, and I will remind everyone that we live in the greatest country in the world!
A small side note- the devastation in Joplin is real and unimaginable, but I love this photo below.

Instead of waiting for someone else to come along and pick them up, the people of Joplin are banding together and starting over. Some people are already rebuilding. To me this is the perfect example of the American spirit. We (Americans) strive to make our dreams come true and sometimes they’re crushed, but we get right back on the horse and keep moving forward. I love that and I am so proud to live in a country that encourages that type of attitude.
