Hey there, I’m Kara! I’m an interior designer, window display artist, and set decorator for commercials, TV shows, and movies. I live by the motto “Do what you love,” and I love, love my job(s). As a set decorator, it is my responsibility to create scenes/sets that tell the story of the characters in the film. That way of thinking has greatly effected the way I approach my interior design projects. My goal is not only to create a space that is beautiful, but one that is also meaningful! I want the spaces I create to celebrate the history and passions of the people who live there, while also inspiring them to go after their dreams!
Possibly my favorite part about my job is that I get to work with my incredibly talented husband. Although it can be stressful working with your spouse, I wouldn’t have it any other way! We fight daily, but our collaborations always bring about a better finished product!
Our biggest goal thus far is getting our TV show- ‘Til Design Do Us Part- off the ground. We are so excited about the possibility of working with couples to create spaces that really effect their lives. You can find out more about our TV show right here.
We live and work in a warehouse in downtown Tulsa, OK. It’s the perfect set-up for a creative couple like us. My fashionable husband, Tim, also started The Two Guys Bow Ties Company – where he sells high end wooden men’s accessories. I am a follower of Jesus and try to use my abilities to glorify Him. I played college basketball at the University of Tulsa and then went on to play one season of professional basketball in Lithuania. I miss basketball immensely but have found a new place to keep my competitive spirit alive at 918 Crossfit!
