When Tim was putting our new flooring down he had to play musical chairs with all our furniture. He would move everything from one side of the room to work then lay a section of floor and move it all over again. I knew it was my chance to work with a clean slate and give our living room another mini makeover. A lot of times when we work on commercial or movie shoots we end up with left over props and accessories. I love getting to change things up, Tim loves that I don’t have to pay for it. Here is the latest edition of our living room.
We have had a lot of new readers lately, so for those of you who aren’t familiar with our remodel here is a recap of the living room. It started out looking like this! Completely closed off with small doorways leading to the other rooms.
We took down two walls to completely open up the space. We now have a “great room” which encompasses the kitchen, living, and dining room. Here’s how the living room looked after all the construction was done but before I had really designed the space.

And here it is now.
Although the space is still not 100% us, I do like most of the elements in the space.
I love my media console (see how she created it here), the lockers, Tim’s super cool side table, our comfy couch, and the vintage suitcases. I am not in love with the light but it will do for now. Speaking of lights, I have an incredible/surprising source for lighting that I will be revealing later in the week.
Tim is SOOOOOO glad to be done with the floors. The painted floors didn’t bother me, but he is glad to see them go. They did clean things up a bit and add some sophistication with their nice warm color.

Thats all for now. I figured you all would rather look at pictures than listen to me talk about the space, but let me know if there is anything I didn’t cover. I will try to answer any questions in the comments.

Love the new floors! The living room looks great!
Love the updates! Where are your curtains from?
It’s both grown up, eclectic, and artsy, in my book- that’s perfection!
