Today I want to share a quick before and after with you. This master bedroom makeover was part of the Clean Slate event that I participate in each year. The homeowners wanted something that was simple but elegant. I didn’t have a lot of money or time to put into the room, so I tried to make a few simple changes to completely change the look and feel of this space.
So here’s the BEFORE. . .
And another BEFORE.
And the AFTERS.
The main focal point in a bedroom is always a bed. Therefore the headboard is very important for a good looking bedroom. I’ll show you how to make this one later this week!
And of course some gorgeous Anthropologie bedding always helps take a room to the next level!
I kept the original paint color because it was neutral and the creamy color kept the space feeling warm and welcoming. The silk drapes (donated by a friend) helped to bring in another touch of elegance along with a sunburst clock and a gorgeous nightstand that was painted to fit the room perfectly.
The total cost of this room was $195. Here’s the budget breakdown!
Headboard- $20
Bedding- $100
Nightstands- $20
Sheepskin Rug- $20
Lamp- $5
Drapes- Free
Curtain Hardware- $30
PS- Thanks for all the sweet comments on yesterday’s post! Please know each and every one absolutely makes my day!

wow–you would never know this was the same room. GORGEOUS! I’m sure the homeowners are thrilled.
i like the transformation and impressed that it took less than $200 to make such a big difference. love the bedding–but how did you get it for so cheap??

Oh I’m so in love with that Anthro bedding, I’ve been wanting it forev!
Thanks for the comments ladies! The bedding was definitely a great deal! It was on sale and then I was able to get a discount on top of that for working at Anthro! Now I’m wondering why I didn’t snag some for myself! 🙂
