Clean Slate 2011 Update

Clean Slate 2011 Update

Last week, I was able to visit the home that we will be fixing up for Clean Slate. The homeowners were super sweet. They are making what they have work without the slightest bit of complaining, but I am excited to give them a space that will make life a little bit easier and hopefully I whole lot more inspiring!

Jennifer (the mother) runs a day care in her home and cares for 3 children of her own when they’re not in school. So, what they are in major need of is some storage, stylish storage of course! 🙂 The kitchen and dining room areas don’t work very well in their current layouts and I am hoping to change as much of that as possible while staying within my budget and time constraints. With one bathroom for the entire family, I want to make sure is both functional and beautiful! Here are some before shots.

When I was asking Jennifer about her style, she relayed that she really enjoys rustic spaces, but loves an elegant timeless look as well. Luckily, these are two styles that can live together very easily. I have already started looking for inspiration pictures as well as putting together design boards for each room. Here are some of the inspiring interiors I have come across so far.

Right now, it is very obvious that I will be needing: lots of woven blinds, a new couch, a couple of accent chairs, lots of curtains and/or fabric, a farmhouse dining table (that is about 30 in wide), two benches, a twin size bed, a bathroom vanity, a bathtub, and the list keeps growing. If you have anything you can already tell would be beneficial to the design and would like to donate or sell please let me know! Clean Slate is always a challenge, but it is always so rewarding. I can’t wait to see what happens this year!

Absolutely, a gift card would help! Probably Lowes or Target would be the most beneficial! Thank you! If you’d like to e-mail me, I can tell you where to send it! Again thank you!
