ROAD TRIP- CALIFORNIA COAST

ROAD TRIP- CALIFORNIA COAST
Tim and I just spent the last week traveling the California Coast! We spent 3 days in San Diego, 3 days in San Francisco, and a short 1/2 day in LA!
Here are some photos of our fun!
You will notice by the quantity of the San Diego photos that the southern city was not all I hoped it would be.
We spent one day at La Jolla beach.
Tim and I having fun with our shadows.
This picture was taken at a lookout point on the top of a tall mountain right in the middle of San Diego. Great views!
Now to my FAVORITE part of the whole trip!!! The 11 hour journey from San Diego to San Fran!! You think I am joking but I’m not!!! We drove Hi-way 1 the whole way and there were basically two reasons I was practically giddy the entire time.
REASON #1- We rented a JEEP WRANGLER (my dream car) and drove with the top down the whole way!
For me this equaled pure bliss.
REASON #2- The scenery was spectacular!

Me after the wind had its way with my hair! YIKES! 🙂

Throughout the trip I could not help but praise my LORD for his beyond beautiful creation. It was truly breathtaking.

Now, get ready for some fun in San Fran!

This pic is taken from a ferry as we head to check out ALCATRAZ!

I love these 2 shots below. This door is found in a fence surrounding the exercise grounds. It was all that kept the prisoners from freedom (well it, officers with guns, and the rough waters). Still, I think the picture is very symbolic.
And of course we headed over to check out the Golden Gate Bridge. I think in total we looked at it from 10 different angles.
This is along the drive to one of the many lookout points. Being from a landlocked state, it was so strange to see so much water!
This was on the way to a lighthouse that turned out to be closed! NUTS!!
We also visited the Muir Woods. It is a forest that has a bunch of Red Woods! Tim and I have always wanted to see the larger than life trees. The were massive!
This picture reminds me of a kaleidoscope.
A vintage 70’s store sign that I couldn’t pass without snapping a pic.
While roaming around Ghirardelli Square we spotted this lovely little cupcake shop. And with a name like that you know we had to stop in and see if the goods were worthy of such a title.
Delicious if I do say so myself!
That’s all for today. I plan to put together a more comprehensive video of our vacation a little later. Until then….DO WHAT YOU LOVE!!!

Hi from Sacramento California! I am so happy to hear you enjoyed your trip along Hwy. 1. I am a North Cali girl and my hubby is from South Cali. He too was blown away by the North Coast and Hwy. 1. He thought the beaches in S. Cali & N. Cali looked the same, lol. Thanks for sharing your pics, come back to North Cali real soon, k?
