When I bought these blasts from the past they were covered in dust and rust. My plan was to bring them back to their prime with paint and by replacing their worn wires. Well. . .
Watch this video to see if I was able to improve both form and function!
What do you think? I gave these classic pieces a $4 face lift with spray paint but as far as function goes, one is still faulty. Now don’t get me wrong, both will keep you as cool as a cucumber but the incessant shrieking sound that comes from the retro red fan is far from relaxing. If you are into self torment take a listen. . . or you can just take my word for it.
We’ll keep working on that piercing pitch but for now I am happy enough with one working wonder and the lovely nostalgia, the love for the yesteryear that these two timeless treasures bring to mind.

I have collected a choice few in the past few years…and seriously – nothing beats the look when they are and are not working 🙂
great finds!
and super nice to meet you
Nice to meet you Anne Marie, thanks for stopping by!
Oh My!!! I am so impressed with you work and your blog. Love the fans, the ceiling fixture and the kitchen island. And everything else. I will be back often. julie
