My dear friend Cathy called on me to design her formal living and dining areas. Her only requests were LOTS of DRAMA and no green. I was happy to help and came up when this fabulous paint palette that truly transforms the space. We beefed up the base boards and crown molding with a cheap trick that I will share with you later. The white that once blended into the background now pops and creates a striking contrast. In the dining room I alternated high gloss and satin paints in the same color to add extra interest without making the space too busy.
Now this is just phase 1 and we have a lot of furniture and accessories to add to make the final product absolutely perfect but as you can see, a little paint and molding went a long way in creating the environment Cathy wanted for this room!!! Our future plans include: mirrored mosaic tiles around the fireplace, 3-4 black tufted armchairs, a big white fluffy rug, velvet drapes, and more!!!

Kara-that transformation is great!! Keep up the good work and I think you will definately be a shoe-in for Design Star!
Absolutely beautiful! When we get a home I’m coming to you!
Great work… it’s beautiful!! So glad you are back to blogging, though I, too, wish you were in Hollywood right now. I can’t wait to hear more of your great design tips!
