LIVING ROOM AFTER

Dramatic living room after tremendous make over

I placed pictures on the wall in a way that allows the TV to blend in. This way even though the TV is the focal point, it’s not so overt!

Cheap curtains make statement in renovation

Curtains can be costly so I made mine. Bed sheets, a stencil, and some paint was all it took to create drapes that draw your eye and don’t bust the budget. I built the TV console by reusing the wood from the old kitchen cabinets. Cost: a little time and paint!
Mason jar chandelier sets the tone and provides beautiful dappled lighting
The crowning glory of the room is this light fixture. My husband and I worked together to assemble this eye catcher from old mason jars! (You can see the original tongue and groove ceiling really well here)
Salvaged stumps make interest out of eyesores
I salvaged these stumps from a ruthless ice storm we had last winter to create a cute coffee table that would have been made into mulch. I was tired of my old rug so I painted stripes to give it a new look. I LOVE my dogs, so I made a small reference to them by painting a silhouette and displaying it under the console.
Modern shelves wrap a boring couch to add interest

This setting calls for a sectional, however we had no money set aside for a new sofa. I don’t care for my couch but it had to do, so I built this wrap-around bookshelf from salvaged materials to create stylish storage that calls for attention.
