Hello Friends! I have to apologize again for my posting this week. I am working two commercials, one of which requires two overnight shoots. That means my days are completely flipped around. . . and that’s why you’re getting posts at 9:30 at night. . . or not at all.
By now, I figure you’ve either grown to accept my posting habits or stopped reading because the lack of consistency drives you crazy! It drives me crazy too!! But hopefully you’ll stick around and bear with my artistic (and not always on time) mind! Oh yeah, and that darn sleep gets in the way too! 🙂
Today I am revealing the base of Brenda’s table! You’ll remember in this post I showed you how we created a custom pattern on the top of it. Well, I didn’t want to stop the uniqueness at the top of this table. So, I thought for a while about what I would want the base to be or to be made from. After many thoughts, I settled on something when I ran across this pillar at Garden Ridge!
Garden Ridge is a pretty cool place. They have a lot of really unique items- some weird, but some perfect for creating a personalized home! These pillars were heavy duty and I knew they would easily hold the weight of our wood table top. The only problem was they were just a tad (2 inches) too tall. No worries!! Problem solver Tim was in the house and making my design dreams come true! With a grinder, he was able to take off a couple of inches and we were back in business! Goodness, I love him! 🙂
We wanted the base to seem as if it was always made to fit perfectly with the top. You’ll notice that both the pattern and the pedestal have a curvy shape that somewhat mimic each other.
We also painted the pedestals with the same gray of the Ardex to keep the color consistent! (See, I really do like consistency! Must. . . get. . . . better!!!) Ok, back to the table.
Once we completed our work on the pedestals, the table base(s) and the table top were brought together in a beautiful marriage! They were totally made for each other. Don’t you think!?
I love the look of this table, and I really love that Brenda now has a piece that is all her own. No one else in the world has a table just like this. I feel like that is something special and it makes me happy. 🙂
‘Til tomorrow!! (Or the next day. . .ok, ok tomorrow!!!) 😉

love this!! so smart
This is such a wonderful table!!! How were you able to attach the bases with the wood top?
