Faceted Centerpieces

Faceted Centerpieces

Happy Monday Friends!  A big thanks to Lizzie for translating the concrete table top article I posted on Friday!  Thanks Lizzie!

There is an amazing party planning company here in Tulsa called Talmadge Powell Creative.  We’ve had some round about connections with the owners of this amazing company for a while, but we just recently partnered with them on a “small” project for the first time.

Here are some of TPC’s former event designs. . .

I say that we partnered on a “small” project because we were asked to come up with a centerpiece idea for the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Gala.  This event is an annual fundraiser and Tulsan’s rank among the most generous givers in the entire country!  Way to go Tulsa!

Centerpieces are important to help carry the theme of any event and the same was true with this gala.  We weren’t called on to create a huge display, but we did have to fill 80 tables!!! That is a lot of centerpieces!

The theme of the event was “Across The Spectrum” which speaks to the way the disease effects all of us.

Here is a screen shot of the website for the event.

Taking cues from the event theme and literature, Tim and I designed some faceted centerpieces that could vary in shape, making each table uniquely different. Here’s how they looked after they were put in place. . .

Do to time and budget constraints, Tim and I were not able to create each piece.  We made a sample, gave some instruction, and then some of TPC’s workers finished putting all 80 pieces together.  It was difficult to trust others to complete the project with the same care that we would have.

In the end, we were pleased with the final result, although we definitely learned some things to do differently next time!

I’m excited to create something similar to put in our home!  What do you think?  Are you still a fan of facets?
