Anthro Spring Time Dispalys

Anthro Spring Time Dispalys

Happy Monday!

I recently had a chance to visit my local Anthropologie and today I am sharing some of the eye candy that I found while I was there!

Every year around this time Anthro does some sort of display with flowers.  Of course, it’s an appropriate object of inspiration for a spring time installation.  These oversized pieces created with wire and tissue paper are just stunning.

I love canopies.  They’re able to make any space feel instantly magical.  For instance, this canopy is hung in the middle of a huge, modern styled building.  But underneath this draped cloth, there is a cozy and enchanting feeling.

Of course, Anthro added an interesting twist to this piece by using bubble wrap as one of the materials to make up the canopy.

Art comes in all sorts of forms and materials.  We normally think of table and chair legs as more functional or an easy way to add style to a bigger piece.  But as you can see here, turned wood legs can stand all on their own as sculptural pieces of art.

I love how the fresh paint colors give the more traditional legs a modern vibe.

This installation was an instant favorite when I saw it from afar.  It looks like chunks of colored glass strung up.

Would you believe the look was achieved by melting plastic cups?! I suspect, glass paint was used to create the transparent coloring.  Gorgeous and brilliant.

I am less enthused about this next display.  Plastic construction fencing and yarn come together to make for a very interesting look.

I don’t hate the idea of using these materials, but I think higher quality yarn and tighter weaving would be the key to making these cheap materials look more sophisticated.

PS- I know the girl who created this display and I think this was an idea she felt obligated to do (by the corprate Anthro offices) but was not super excited about.  No doubt the budget was also a factor in the amount and quality of material she was able to use.

Overall, I found quite a few things to inspire me during this latest trip to my favorite store!  I can’t wait to visit the one in Oklahoma City this week! 🙂
