Well, I am happy to report that Trisha Yearwood is a lovely lady full of southern charm! Not only that, but I got to hear her sing “She’s In Love With the Boy!” It was very cool to hear her in such an intimate setting. I feel so blessed when I get to watch people do what they love! I can’t tell you much about it right now, but when the episode airs on TV, I’ll be sure to let you guys know! 🙂
Now, on to the topic at hand. When I design and style a room, I often create a few small, unique pieces of art to add to the space. Not all art has to be a Monet. Mixing masterpieces with simple looks will look great and keep your budget in tact. As you can see below, one piece of art is simply a dip dyed piece of paper. Simple, but pretty. The other small piece involves rope. I love the texture of rope and I knew that I wanted to use it for a number of reasons.
I had the idea to tie an interesting knot from two pieces of rope to symbolize the union of B and her husband, Anthony. I love that the rope symbolizes the truth that the couple came into the marriage as individuals and meshed together to create beauty.
Anyway, once I knew I wanted to use rope and an interesting knot of some sort, I googled “rope knot decor” and luckily this How-To from Ms. Martha popped up!
Martha used the idea to add a little flair to some chairs. I thought it was beautiful! You can find Martha’s step by step photo tutorial here.
So, after I saw Martha’s look, I decided to adapt the idea to work for my space/art piece.
It’s a small detail in a big room. . . but lots of small, well thought out details make a big difference! 🙂 Don’t you think!?
