Hey Friends! Happy Tuesday! After some major delays at the airport, Tim and I finally arrived back home around 2:00 am last night. Our weekend in Chicago went by so fast! My crossfit competition didn’t go as well as I wanted it to, but I did have a great experience and am excited about going back next year!
I always look forward to being creatively inspired when we travel. We didn’t have a lot of time to explore shops and art museums this trip, but our swanky hotel provided some great design moments that certainly got my creative juices flowing! We stayed at the Mile North Hotel….
They say first impressions are everything and Mile North had me at hello when I walked into the lobby and saw the inventive check in desk made from stacked up suitcases and trunks. I love that the look has character while also looking clean. And of course, the fact that the suitcases speak to the travel lovers who visit makes this a perfect design choice in my opinion.
The entire lobby was warmed up with beautiful wood tones. I especially loved the fireplace wall that boasted planks laid in a herringbone pattern. Just gorgeous…
On the other side of the lobby, stylish sitting areas and a dapper coffee bar completed the space.
