Hello Friends! We had a great weekend! We had our DIY concrete class and things went really well! We’ll have pictures from the class to share later in the week but today we are posting an elegant Mini Makeover! I don’t generally take on single piece projects for clients, but I made an exception for a friend and gave this plain white headboard a little extra depth and comfort to boot!
When Leah brought this headboard to me, it was beautiful and had a great shape.
But the piece could be easily improved by adding a tufted, upholstered insert. The insert not only added some extra comfort, but it also really set off the wood frame. So, we got to work on creating the piece and soon we had this.
And here’s how the headboard looked once the two pieces were put together.
Then it was time to add some contrasting, colorful pillows.
So, what do you think of the improved piece? It’s always fun when you can spruce up something you already have and create a completely new look! I love how elegant it feels now!

It is gorgeous!! You’re right; it makes the wood really pop on the headboard now, and I love the bright coral pillows!

LOVE, love, love this Kara! Gosh…I wish I was as talented as you. I just bought a tuft headboard last week from Joss & Main b/c I wanted one so bad but knew I couldn’t make it myself. Love this one & love the colors of the pillows too!
