So, here’s the thing- after writing the “Becoming a Dreamer” post and getting such wonderful responses, I felt great! I felt like I was really helping others to become or stay inspired to achieve their dreams. I love hearing the stories of others throwing off all their hinderances and going after their unique calling in life. And I don’t know about you, but I want to hear more!!!
So, I’ve decided to start an “Inspire Me” series. The series will be dedicated to highlighting people who have/are courageously going after their dreams with all their heart. It will focus on how the person figured out their calling, how they decided to fearlessly leap into their dream, and the sacrifices they’ve made to make things happen. It is my hope that as we celebrate inspiring people and stories, that we will all start to (or continue to) imitate those that we are surrounded by. Let’s create a community of dreamers, encouragers, and go getters!
If you are interested in being featured in this series or if you want to nominate someone to be featured, please send us an e-mail! (kara.paslay@gmail.com) Sharing our stories is a powerful thing. . . it’s not about bragging or saying “Look at me,” it’s about encouraging others. I can’t wait to hear and share your stories!
Ok, so now that I’ve covered that, let’s move on to a little eye candy!
Today I wanted to post some photos that readers have been sending in of projects they’ve been inspired to take on! YAY!!!
Rachel was inspired by the chevron fireplace and thought it was the perfect solution to jazz up her own own hot box!

I don’t know about you, but I am also inspired by Rachel’s mantle decor as well! Love it, love it- especially that yellow frame and the Volkswagen van print!
Lauren took on the fish scale feature wall idea in order to out a little glitz and glam into her dining room!
Julia is a dear friend and about a week ago she e-mailed asking if she could paint her glass pantry door with chalkboard paint. I loved the chalkboard idea, but I gave her a few tips on how it didn’t have to be permanent.
BEFORE
AFTER
Here are the super quick instructions I gave to Julia.
1. Go to Lowes and buy masonite board. Ask the nice gentlemen 😉 at Lowes to cut it to the dimensions that you need. They won’t always make “project cuts” but if you need the 4X8 sheet cut down so you can fit it in your car, you can usually get them to help you out.
2. Paint the smooth side of the masonite with chalkboard paint.
3. Use industrial strength velcro to attach the masonite board to your glass.
Oh so easy!
Finally, The Frisco Kid DIY’d there own mason jar chandelier. And it’s adorable in her space!
Love the chalkboard fire! Very whimsical!
Hope you enjoyed seeing how other readers are incorporating projects into their homes! More fun stuff tomorrow!

oops on the typo talking about Julia’s panty door 😛
Love the Inspire Me idea, I love reading about how other people conquer life
Haha, Sal! Does it make me more lovable if I say I did it on purpose? Oops! Hope you at least got a laugh out of it! 🙂 I’m excited about the “Inspire Me” idea too! I hope people will send in their stories! 🙂
The chalkboard fireplace is so fun! Love that idea!
Everything looks super mazing!
Kara….you are awesome! I think this is such a great idea! I think everyone should be about following their dreams and working to inspire each other instead of all of the negative fueling out here! I’m really stoked about this! How cool to see this idea stem from such an amazing post?!
I agree Jenna! Very whimsical! 🙂
Yes, everyone did so fantastic Breanna! Love seeing readers being inspired to take on projects for themselves!
I know, right!? I’d love to hear your story Lindsey!
