Fun Photo Shoot Pics

Fun Photo Shoot Pics

Today Tim and I are anxiously waiting to hear from our parents about how we did on The Nate Show. Unfortunately, none of the stations around Tulsa carry the show! Boo Tulsa stations!!! 🙁 Anyway, we’ll have to wait until we take a trip home or until Nate puts the video up on his site. So, if you watch our segment, you’ll have to let us know what you thought!

In other news, I want to share some fun pictures that Tim and I took for a recent photo shoot. The photo shoot was specifically for Tim and I to get some professional photos to promote our show! 🙂 We will use the shots on the new “Til Design Do Us Part” website and we will also use them for our package when we pitch to different networks. 🙂 The goal of the pictures is to tell a story about who we are and what we do.
Tim and I worked very hard before the shoot to create the backdrops. It is our hope that every part of the picture gives others a little insight into us, from our design style to how we relate to each other. 🙂 So, today we are going to show off some of our favorites! We would LOVE to know which ones you like the most!

This one (above) is probably my favorite! We just had so much fun as it rained paint chips! 🙂 I think the paint chip wall adds great texture to the photo as well! 🙂

This series (below) pretty much epitomizes Tim and I’s relationship. I like to focus on the task at hand, but Tim is all about having fun while he works. We make a great team because we balance each other. I married Tim because he makes me laugh and life is so much better when he’s around!

I like this photo (below) because you get a glimpse of my teal tights! They were awesome! I was a tad bit bummed because this was the only photo where you can kind of see them. I guess I’ll have to figure out another time and place to let those babies shine! 🙂

I love Tim in this photo (below). Doesn’t he just look so manly and strong wheeling me around in that wheel barrel!?

Crazy Tim at it again! He has a bit of ADD. Haha!

Can you tell that I just adore him? I really do! It also helps that I watched “P.S. I Love You” today. I’m feeling very sappy.

Not sure if the whole “planking phenomena” is over, but we went ahead and took this one for fun! 🙂

Love my pants in this one! I got them from Anthro a while ago and could never figure out where to wear them. This shoot was the perfect opportunity!

We really like this one below, but we want to change the black background out so that my hair doesn’t bend in so much. Isn’t it a fun concept though?

Ok, so we had to have one that was a little “bad to the bone!” Don’t mess with us. . . we are lean, mean, designing machines!!!

If you’re interested, we will give some tips on how we created the photo backdrops for the shoot! And like I said, please leave a comment and let us know which photos were your favorites because those will probably be the ones we end up using! Thanks y’all!!
Update:
We have had some people ask us about this picture from “the Nate show.”

  2. Mel

Great shots! My favorites are the wheelbarrow and the paint chips. How long did it take to put the paint chip backdrop together? Amazing!

  3. myfriendstaci.com

Love the paint chip one, of COURSE, but my second fave is the funny one with Tim leaping over the couch. Like I can picture it in a magazine with your show title on it or something.

  4. Cindy

I JUST saw you two on the Nate Show! You guys are so great! I love this post; it is hard to pick favorites from your photo shoot. It looks like you, both, were enjoying the process.

  5. Hannah B

I’m loving the very first one.

And the one of him jumping on the couch.

For a more “serious” on I like IMG6418.

Actually, I love them all! 🙂

  6. Jill Elaine

I LOVE the paint chip background photo, The one with the picture frame and the one where Tim is jumping onto the couch – where he is in midair:)

  7. Kaytie

Kara, I just wanted to let you know that I just saw your segment air on the Nate Berkus show – SO CUTE! I don’t even know you, but I’m so excited for you! 🙂 The segment was so cute and funny. You did a great job explaining your projects. It was so much fun to see you all in a more ‘real life’ setting, I can totally imagine you all with your own tv show now. Congrats!

And thanks to all the newbies coming to our blog for the first time after watching us on Nate! We are so glad you decided to come by!! Grab a cup of coffee or tea and stay a while! 🙂

Just saw Nate’s show and immediately checked out your website. I love your sense of style. I passed on your website and blog info to my bff who has the same unique style. Like you, she loves DIY projects and her home reminds me a little of yours. Keep it up!! love love love

  11. Candi Rodgers

I love them!!!! My top three faves are the wheelbarrow pic, the paint chip pic, and the serious face brick wall pic. I think they showcase the many sides to your personalities and creativity! Good luck! I would totally love to see you guys on TV and would watch faithfully!

  12. Nikki

I love the paint chip picture, it is my favorite! Actually I like all your pictures and you guys have quite the challenge on your hands. However I might skip the dressed up ones. It looks more like a cocktail party, not so much design show-y. 🙂

  13. Jenna at Homeslice

They are ALL great. I love them all, seriously. My favs are probably the ones with the paint chips, chevron walls, and brick wall. Especially the fun ones where we get to see your personality! Are the chevron walls made from strips of wood?

  14. Maeghan

Just saw the segment featuring yall’s DIY projects! I’m absolutely inspired now to try some DIY projects in my empty NY apt! You two are beyond creative and talented! I am loving the metal headboard. Going to bookmark and share your blog! <3

  15. Taylor

Oh my gosh, could y’all be any cuter?!?! You guys are amazing and I hope you can get a show lined out, cause I would totally watch it!

P.S. – My brother, Tanner, used to play baseball with your brother Victor many years ago!! 🙂

  16. Elly

First of all the two of you are sooooo cute!! My 10th Anniversary is tomorrow and I have been feeling sappy lately so this just helped that along some 🙂
But, the reason I am writing this comment is because I just had to find your blog today after seeing you on The Nate Show!! I DVR Nate, I wish I could send it to you! You were GREAT and again SO cute!!! Unfortunately I had to search for your blog but all I did was search “Mason Jar Chandelier” and you popped up right away!!! I already added your blog to my favorites list and will visit often! I love your house and your design sense. I was happy to see you featured on The Nate Show today!!!!

  17. Ariella

My favorites are the wheel barrel, the paint chips, the frame and the first two couch shots.

Great job on the Nate show today! Seemed comfortable and everything looked nice. Wish you had more time to explain all the jewelry displays…..looking forward to that happening soon though. Best of Luck.

  18. miki

You guys did awesome on the Nate show! I am so excited I found your blog, all of your projects were inspiring! Love it!

  19. stacy

My favs are the one where you are looking up (wearing red pants), the wheel barrow one, and the blue couch where you are hugging tim’s neck. These describe y’all… and you both look good in them… FUN!

  20. Elizabeth

Y’all were so cute on the Nate show the other day! I tuned in just to watch you! Usually Nate’s show brings more exposure to the House Proud people on it, but this time, you brought more exposure to Nate (for me at least)! I’ve seen his show before, and I liked it, but it doesn’t come on a channel I ever watch, so I just never though about watching it. But I tuned in to see y’all, and then realized, hey! I should be watching this show more often. And now I’ve been watching his show all week. So Nate owes you. : )

And as far as the pictures, I like the wheelbarrow one, the one with you two in the frame, and the one where Time is making it rain…paint chips. Cute!

  21. Kara Paslay

Oh my goodness! Thank you everyone for your valuable input! We are definitely listening! We also appreciate your kind words about our appearance on The Nate Show! We had a blast and hope it’s the first of many! 🙂

Jenna- we will cover the herringbone art soon! 🙂
Elizabeth- Glad we turned you onto Nate! He has some great stuff on the show!!

  22. spark&scarlette

loved the segment for the nate show! awesome to say the least! Nate is one of my favorites.
& as for the photos to use – I love the paint chip photo, the chevron walls, and the couch ones.

The photographer in me, loves the splash of color with the paint chip wall and the texture. Also I LOVE the black & foiled wall…however the posing & wardrobe with the two of you reminds me of a cocktail party or something of that nature. Love the background, just needed more light & possibly a chic piece of furniture, something lucite, etc.

    Either way, great job!
