Have you heard of Banksy? A good friend of mine turned me on to this British based artist that seems to have a lot of mystery surrounding him. You can find all sorts of theories swirling around on the internet about Banksy, but for the sake of this post, I’m going to keep things simple and focus on the art.
Banksy is known for his graffiti art that always makes a statement. Whether irreverent, pertinent, or humorous- Banksy’s work always draws attention. Here are a few of his pieces to show you what I mean…
I love, love this piece where the graffiti mimics the stained glass look of a massive church window.
And for whatever reason, I am drawn to this idea of taking fine art and making it not so serious. I’m working on my own little project after being inspired by this guy below.
Actually, Banksy has me thinking that graffiti might have a place in a few of my designs. I like the idea of graffiti art, but what about graffitied furniture………?
I’m totally thinking about it! Stay tuned! 😉
PS- For more info on Banksy, google him. His website is no help, but you can find his work all over Pinterest!
