Moorish Wood Wall

Moorish Wood Wall

Happy Thursday Y’all!  Today I am revealing a mini makeover we did for a bathroom wall.  The wall is directly across from the door, so you can see it from the connecting bedroom and it literally stares you in the face as you walk into the space.

Since the location of this wall makes it an instant focal point, we had to jazz it up a bit.  The mirror went away and we decided to replace it with a more textural surface.  We’ve had a couple of clients lately who really love the barn wood wall look, and this couple was one of them.  However, instead of just nailing up weathered wood, we wanted to do something to make it a little different….

As you can see above, we used a CNC machine to route a moorish design into the wood.  Technology is pretty awesome.  PS- Did you miss my post about the “Maker Movement?”  Check it out to read more about how we love to enhance our designs with cool, techy tools!

So, once the CNC work was complete, we installed the wood onto the wall.

And then we needed to do a little accessorizing!!!  Although I love(d) the patterned wood wall, I felt like it needed to be broken up a bit.  I added a watercolor painting to bring in some vibrant color and a small table to hold some small accessories.

This is Fabulous! Love the routing in the weathered wood! And the great table. Where’s that from?
