Plumbing Replaced and Elevated Floor In

Hello Friends!  Happy Martin Luther King Day!

I am happy to report that we are ditch free and smooth sailing this week!  After 5 days of living with a 15 ft hole, plus dirt and rubble covering in my kitchen area, we finally got the plumbing issue taken care of!

Above and to the right, you can see we used PVC pipe.  Before we covered everything back up, we wanted to make sure there were no leaks, which is why we used a hose to flush water down the pipe.  Everything checked out and we were ready to close up!

After we put the dirt back in place and allowed the new poured concrete to dry, we thought, “Why stop now?” and we went ahead and built our elevated floor!!!

We created an 8 inch platform for the kitchen to sit up on.  It will be a galley style kitchen and I’ve already started purchasing a few items!  Right now we just have the subfloor down, but we are really excited about the idea we have for the flooring of this platform!  I’m pretty sure it’s going to be something you’ve never seen before- totally custom and very “us!” 🙂

We’re excited to keep moving forward and to share our progress along the way! We hope you’ll stay tuned! 🙂
