QUICK CHANGE KITCHEN- ON SET OF "THE LAMP"

We are down to the last room redo in the movie shoot house today. There wasn’t a lot we could change in this kitchen without using time and money we didn’t have. So, we had to make some minor changes that would have a major impact. Here’s how the kitchen started out.

BEFORE
kitchen beforeThe white cabinets and black countertops combined with the buttery yellow walls left this room feeling stark and cold. We wanted the space to feel warm and homey, so the biggest (and easiest) change was the paint color. We got rid of the pastel-ly yellow and brought in a nice warm green.

The floor runner helps to break up the expanse of hardwood while the pattern in the rug and the curtains add interest and softness to the space. Numerous accessories (cutting boards, bowls, canning jars, herbs, ect) keep warm colors flowing throughout the space.
Last, we borrowed the pot rack from Tim and I’s kitchen (it’s usually hanging on the ceiling) and attached it to the wall. I love the patina on the copper – it adds so much charm!

And that was it- we were able to completely alter the feel of this kitchen with a few easy and cheap changes. You can do the same with rooms in your own home that aren’t quite your style.

I’ve been searching for the perfect pot rack…one that hangs from ceiling with lights. I have two lights over my bar now so I need to be able to remove the lights and replace w/ others or ones part of the rack. I’m looking for something traditional, not too modern, not too rustic. Any suggestions? The one you have for sale would be great if I could hang on the wall but I don’t have a wall for that 🙁 Thanks!
