Hello! Happy Wednesday! Today I am revealing another portion of the living/dining room design we just completed for a rockstar couple, Jonny and Angelene! They are wonderful people and have a great story as well! Of course we wanted to create a space that fit this couple’s personality and I feel like we hit the nail on the head with this next idea!
Last week I showed you these two photos. . .
Well, those chains (which Tim welded to stand up straight) became parts of 2 shelving units used to display family treasures and to store CD’s!
I’m not sure why I associate chains with rock and roll, but it really does feel fitting to me. I also love the contrast of the colors between the black, white, and gold!
Speaking of the gold, I ran to Spectrum Paint to pick up my favorite paint ever (Benjamin Moore’s Molten Metallic- Gold) to use on this project. It’s seriously becoming an obsession.
The paint bonds to metal and creates an extremely hard finish. Here’s a side by side comparison of the chain before and after the paint.
In an effort to keep the rest of the room a surprise until tomorrow, I don’t have a wide view of the shelving units, but here is cropped photo for you to get a little better look. . .
Do you like them?! I hope so! 🙂 But what really matters is that Jonny and Angelene liked them! Yay! 🙂
PS- You can find a Spectrum Paint (and my favorite gold paint) near you by clicking here!
love the gold against the dark wall! and, i love that the paint is gold without being too shiny.
You guys are SO inspiring!!! How did you attach them to the shelves, glue or did you drill into the board? I see that piece of hardware, but I’m not sure exactly what it is. Thanks so much, your idea is awesome!
I love this! It looks great and so unique!
