Hey there friends! We’ve been working on a number of projects and I’m excited to say- even a few in our own home! Yay! But today I am showing you some developments in a dining room I mentioned a couple of weeks ago. Back then I showed you how adding architecture can really change the feel of a room. For instance, we added big, wooden beams and wainscotting- which instantly upgraded this space.
Now that the space had good bones, it was time to customize this room! I’ve mentioned that I’m smitten with watercolor pieces and my clients are fans too! So, I decided to do a large scale watercolor piece that would cover most of the main wall in this dining room. I was working on the piece when I posted this picture on Instagram a while ago…
After finally finishing the piece, I installed it and framed it out with some molding to match the wainscotting underneath the chair rail…
I love the big bold statement it makes. The homeowners are fans of design that is simple and not too fussy. This giant art piece allows me to keep the rest of the space pretty “clean” because the installation commands so much attention. Instead of adding layers with accessories, we are doing it with architecture and large scale pieces.
You may also notice that we’ve added a rug since you last saw the space. I am happy to report that everyone is a fan of the purchase…especially Lily!! Every time I go over there, she’s rolling around on it and purring with delight! Cats are too funny!
All we have left is bringing in the table, curtains, and the rest of the chairs! The final reveal is coming soon!!!
The painters are beautiful and really pop in that room. Stunning
Paintings that is!
so beautiful! I love that you framed them with molding…such a budget friend, but beautiful idea. can’t wait to see the finished space.
I love everything about this room! One of my favorites yet. I wish we lived closer so you could come consult on my home!!
I love the art! The room looks great!
I love the water color piece! It’s amazing… Did you do it on canvas?
