So this is my first blog, officially started on January 20th 2009. “Made 2 cREate” (now Kara Paslay Designs) was started as an outlet for me to display my design talents and explore the possibilities of turning my passion into a business. The name was decided on because I believe my creator made me in his image and one way I bare his resemblance is in the fact that I also love to create. I not only make things from scratch but like the Lord I see potential in things that most people would deem hopeless. I give things new life, make them beautiful, and give them a purpose. I am a BIG believer in REusing, REcycling, and REcreating things you already have to make them to work in a new space. My thoughts start off as gentle stirings and end up keeping me awake till the wee hours of the morning. My mind is constantly thinking of unique design possibilities and how to incorporate them into everyday life with basically no budget. It is my hope that this blog will become a site that many turn to for one-of-a-kind design advice and that I would be able to help others create environments that inspire them everyday. I believe that people’s surroundings greatly effect who they are and who they will become. Everyone deserves a safe place, their own space that can provide a peace and stir up passion.
