A DESIGNER’S WORK IS NEVER DONE

A DESIGNER’S WORK IS NEVER DONE
Not long ago I posted my kitchen island makeover and thought that I was finally finished with my cocina (kitchen). But of course I was wrong. Is any room ever REALLY finished? Not in this house. Many believe the best designs evolve over time and I have to say that thought is proving true in my kitchen! So here is a shot captured right after the island was created.
As I was helping Stacy paint her cabinets we came up with a fantastic idea to give a little life to the space. A plethora of white pottery, vases, bowls, and canisters grace the tops of the cabinets using it as a display shelf. I loved the look so much, I decided to create a similar setting in my own house. Here is the inspiration.
Now my cooking cuarto (room) is looking just a little, or maybe a lot, better with a couple of additions.

The best thing about this petite project is that it cost me no money! I am known to be a bit of a pack rat and I found all these items around my house! Originally most of them were gathered from garage sales and clearance racks. Grouped together they make a much bigger statement than they did apart! Here are some close-ups.

I also wanted some hidden storage under the island, and this oversized wicker basket does just the trick!

Leave a comment and let me know if you like the new additions or preferred the minimalist look!

    2) Your style is great

I am in love with the new kitchen decor, you have inspired me to keep an eye out for items in one color scheme and do the same in my kitchen!

Just found your blog from “Today’s Creative Blog” and I’m so glad.

I love your style. The simplicity of the color scheme keeps the minimalistic style.
