Hey Ya’ll! Today, I am so excited to share about Tim’s most recent piece of furniture. I was trying to wait until Tim had time to write all about it, but unfortunately he won’t be back in town for a few days. He’s off in Texas spending time with the most gorgeous woman who ever lived.
Yeah, Tim scored a spot on the crew of a commercial being shot with the Cindy Crawford! So, while he’s off hanging out with super models, I’m here holding down the fort and I can’t wait to show off his latest creation. Let’s get to it!
Meet the Fullingim Family!
Isn’t that a beautiful bunch?

I’ve worked with Melanie before when she was wanting some design help with her new home. Through our interaction, I found out that Melanie really appreciates being surrounded by meaningful objects. I really loved that about her and I knew Tim would too!
Melanie asked Tim to create a custom table for their large family. There were a few things that she definitely wanted incorporated into the design and then there was this one thing that she was hoping Tim could work into the table. A steel drum. “Why?” you may ask. Well this wasn’t just any steel drum. This was a special steel drum.
Both Melanie and Jeremy grew up as missionaries overseas. Like most missionaries, their families would come home every few years for a couple of months and when they did, they would use steel drums to ship their belongings. The steel drum that Tim used as the table base was one that Jeremy’s parents actually sent back and forth a few times!
Ok, so are you itchin’ to see this thing?
It took 6 strong men to get into place!
The top of the table is concrete surrounded by a steel band. Melanie wanted to make sure the top was smooth so there were no crevices for food to get stuck in. The concrete makes for easy cleaning. Not to mention, it’s beautiful!
Like a true craftsman, Tim made sure this piece looked fabulous from all angles. Even the underside is flawless! (I’m allowed to use words like “flawless” and “fabulous” to describe his work- he’s my husband and I think he’s pretty great!)
Tim made the 6 legs from a gorgeous walnut wood that mimics the beams in ceiling.
We both really love the way this piece feels both elegant and rustic at the same time. The juxtaposition of the rich warm wood against the worn old drum is just lovely. Of course, our favorite thing about this piece is that it has a special story to go along with it. We hope this beauty will be in the Fullingim family for years to come.
Words from Tim-
Thank you Melanie and Jeremy for allowing us Paslay’s to work for and with you. I am so happy to provide you a piece that speaks to your family’s rich history.

WOW, I love it especially because of its meaning behind it!
Love it! So sweet that they used a steel drum with meaning for them 🙂
