Adorable Berry Baskets and a Challenge

Adorable Berry Baskets and a Challenge
Because I work at Anthro, I am constantly surrounded by their wonderfully unique and artistic products. One thing that I have been oogling (sp?) lately are these adorable ceramic Farmer’s Market Baskets.

I love them, and they also come in a khaki color.

There are a few other styles available as well.

Well, since accepting the Anthro job, I have spent way to much of my paycheck buying things from the store. So although I wanted to purchase about a dozen of these lovely little guys, I decided to forgo them (at least for now) and instead take a trip to my local farmer’s market.

Of course, the fruit containers you find at Farmer’s Markets aren’t ceramic, but they are cheaper and they come with yummy food inside! 🙂 I picked up a couple to take home with me and now they are sitting in my kitchen waiting to be used.

I think there are a number of fun things you could do with these super cute containers. So, I was thinking it could be fun to challenge you (all of my readers) to come up with different ways to reuse these berry baskets! Everyone can send me a few photos of what they did and I will compile them into one big inspirational post and maybe pick a winner! I just think it will be so cool to see what everyone comes up with. That would be fun, huh?!
So, let’s see what ya got, girls! (And any men out there reading the blog!) I can’t wait!

Those ceramic ones are lovely! Although I love the ones straight from the market, I bet you could get a similar look if you sprayed them with glossy spraypaint.

I would spend WAY, WAY too much working at Anthro, too! I’d have already snapped up several more Tea House doorknobs and Tin Roof Switchplates for sure!

I figure since you’re familiar with Ashley Ann you’ve seen this, but it’s something I’ve done so I thought I’d share it.

It’s the perpetual calendar that she did with a berry basket. Of course, I made mine for a Christmas gift so I couldn’t find those darn baskets anywhere! I plan on stocking up this summer because I think a calendar like that would make a great wedding gift to chronicle the first years.

Kara! I have a question…What do you think about doing a post about how you would decorate a classroom. I’m sure you have plenty of teachers that read your blog including me! I would love to see unique and cheap ways to decorate a classroom. I am a high school math teacher and I want a cute classroom but still “grown up” enough for high school students. It has to be cheap because you know teachers are overworked and underpaid. Just a suggestion!

Yes, yes! I save these after the market and use them for little containers around the kitchen. Holder for cocktail napkins! Saver of garlic bulbs! Don’t you love that they naturally come in such a precious color?

Besides being already obsessed with Anthro (registered there for our wedding, love love love), I’m now loving the ceramic mimicry of every day objects: egg cartons, produce boxes. Delighted to find you blog!

    thanks,
    Lindsey
