I hope you enjoyed the BIG BACKYARD REVEAL- PART 3 video but you know I had to add some more eye candy! These photos will give you a real picture of all the details you might have missed out on by just watching the camera clip.
Let’s start with the potting station, shall we?
I can pot a pack of annuals in no time here at my outdoor potting plot! I have everything I need plus a few extras!
Below: Because a wooden fence is a bit boring I created a wire pattern and planted climbing ivy underneath. In a few years the ivy will have covered the form and I will have added an artistic element to the space for next to nothing!
To the dining area! Now if you remember I had a story about those stained and stamped concrete pavers! It goes like this. . .
I was wondering around Tulsa’s Home and Garden show absolutely amazed at how much work vendors had put into their displays that would only be used for a few days. About the same time that thought crossed my mind I approached a stand that had poured a stained and stamped concrete slab. I was in disbelief at their overachieving when all of a sudden a light bulb went off in my head. I asked the worker what they were going to do at the end of the show when they had to get rid of the beautiful set-up they had just created. He said they would bring a bulldozer in, break up the concrete, and take it to a landfill (talk about the antithesis of green)! Well I had much bigger, better, and greener dreams for the hardscape hottie (let me clarify I am referring to the concrete, not the worker)! So at the end of the show, Tim and I came in with a diamond bladed saw and saved the concrete from certain doom. I am always a bit more excited about this type of thing than Tim, and even though he complained as we breathed in concrete dust for a couple of hours, in the end he agreed, WE GOT A GREAT DEAL!! A little time and labor was our only cost for our outdoor flooring that is now in dining area #2 and Project Privacy!
Take a look at my lot of table top shots!
Above: I chose to cover the seats of my chairs with something a little more creative than fabric! Rope is aesthetically pleasing and holds up to some major wear and tear!
I love the fabulous fish salt and pepper shakers!! You can find them at Target for $3 a piece!
Below: Draping fabrics is one of my favorite looks. It makes things feel elegant and romantic! When the sun goes down, the lights come on in my backyard! The glow they give off is absolutely lovely!
Below: I used these coral pieces as place card holders! Although I am never so formal that my friends can’t pick their own seats, I feel like having their own special spot makes them feel loved!
My wonderful husband was the brains and the brawn behind this beautiful arbor! I tell you he can do anything and everything! I am a lucky lady!
Below: Eventually that climbing vine will make its way up the wooden post and cover the top of the arbor creating much needed shade!
So, we are finally finished with this backyard bonanza. Your comments mean so much to me, so please share your thoughts and feelings!

Wow, So beautiful! I love that table, the color is awesome and your settings! Your pond is incredible as well, I love it all! What a beautiful place to enjoy!
So very beautiful! Way to use and re-use items that were cheap or free! Genius!!
What a beautiful outdoor space! Great job! We’re working on some outdoor areas too. Thanks for the inspiration!
This is just gorgeous!!
What kinds of fabric did you use and how did you hang them on the pergola? We have one that is similiar and I would love to enhance it even more!
My hubby is handy too…he can build anything…we are blessed girls 🙂
Thanks for the lovely comments ladies! Charlene I used pre-made outdoor curtains that I found at Bed, Bath, and Beyond (but I am not sure if they still sell them or not). I hung them by reusing copper from when we replaced all of our plumbing and converted to PVC. I used a spade bit to drill into the wood and then I put the pipe directly into the wood. Hope that makes sense! I would love to see your enhancements when you get around to them.
