DOMINO ROOMS

I LOVE and appreciate all kinds of design styles so this task was especially hard for me. But, I successfully narrowed my favorite domino rooms down to two, although there were at least 5 that were soooo close. However, the two that I ended up with have some similar elements. 🙂

1. These rooms both have VERY striking color palettes. The high contrast of the black and white alone would not be very appealing to me. However, when you add in the pop of color (with the red or yellow) things start to be extremely interesting and beautiful in my eyes.
2. TEXTURE!!! I cannot say how much I think texture has to do with creating a beautiful space. You see plenty in both rooms. From the layered rugs and a rippily light fixture to nailhead trim and layered butterfly collage art.
3. I am L-O-V-I-N-G aged brass right now and that lamp in the bedroom has got me swooning! Get ready, I think aged brass is the next hot trend in interiors!
4. Crazy creativity and unexpected elements are two things that will make me go Lady Gaga over a room. Although the bedroom is beautiful, I think I slightly prefer the nursery because. . .
A. They didn’t forget the fifth wall. Putting stripes on the ceiling was a beautifully bold move, not to mention visually stimulating for the baby who lives there.
B. The handles on the dresser are not a major component of the room, but they are fabulous!! The organic element they add is just what the room needed. Every good designer knows, the difference is in the details!!
