My first attempt at fabric dying was a success! The dress that once made me look washed out now flatters my coloring and figure as well! The process was super simple. I followed the directions on the box to a “T” and ended up with a perfectly uniform dye job.
Here is a “before” along with my best model poses in the new dress! 🙂
I am happy to be past my hesitations of using colored dyes! What an inexpensive and simple way to change the look of an outfit or room for that matter!!! Next on the list, a white slipcover!
One thing I might change next time is the amount of dye I use. I may opt for a deeper tone. The box suggested adding a cup of salt to to the mixture to increase the intensity of the color.
You may notice I am sporting a new hair-do! Don’t worry it’s NOT permanent. This massive undertaking occurred during a “GIRL’S NIGHT IN” where we also enjoyed a “Swap and Shop,” more about that later.
I actually enjoy my curly hair and like that it is unique. However, a little change here and there is always exciting so I rocked my straight hair for a couple of days. It was such a strange sensation to be able to comb my fingers through my hair, LOVED IT! Also revealed by the new do is the desperate need for a hair cut! It is SPLIT ENDS city on this head of hair!
I’ll be driving to Dallas tomorrow for Labor Day Weekend fun and it turns out my sweet husband has a surprise for me!!!! I’ll fill you in on the fun when I get back!!
Till next time. . .

nice pics…never new you could strike a pose…no play, all serious!:) Love the dress by the way! Ever need more than one model?… I’ve got your back! 😉
I love that muted tone that came from the dye. I’ve been too worried to try to dye my clothes… yours looks so great though!
