DYING FOR A CHANGE

DYING FOR A CHANGE

I have wondered how easy it is to use fabric dyes for a while now and I think I am finally ready to try it out!! I have a sofa with a white slip cover that I really like, however with two puppy dogs the light look is not ideal. So, I plan to opt for a darker shade so the sofa cover can continue to work for our family. But. . . before I take the plunge and possibly ruin a perfectly good slip cover I thought I would do a trial run on something a little smaller.

I have had this cute white dress from Target since fall and have failed to wear it because of its color (white does not seem to flatter my pale complexion). Hopefully, all I will need is a little bit of RIT to move this dress from the back of the closet to center stage! I will let you know how it goes! And PLEASE, if you have any tips from your own dying trials, share the wealth!

I just read someones blog post about a girl dying a white dress black. Im sorry I can’t remember where I saw it but it turned out great. She just followed the directions.

The hottest water you can get your hands on
will help set the dye better. And: wash it by
itself the first few times after!
