EASY UPDO- REAGAN AT HAIRDRESSER ON FIRE

EASY UPDO- REAGAN AT HAIRDRESSER ON FIRE

Since working on the movie, I have become way more aware of my wardrobe, make-up and hair- thanks to my new found friends working in those departments! So, I think this is the perfect time to post this DIY that has nothing to interior design but everything to do with beauty! Ladies and gentlemen, meet Reagan!!!

Hello to Kara Paslay Designs readers! It’s nice to meet you. I’m Reagan Breinholt of Hairdresser On Fire, and I’m so happy to be here guest posting for the lovely Kara. I come with good tidings in the form of an easier than pie updo that really anyone can create. Even though I think pie isn’t easy (well, it’s easy to eat, but not so easy to make), this updo really is easy.

Let’s get started!

Here is what you’ll need for this look. A few bobbi-pins, some clear hair bands and a rat tail comb. (or any comb you can tease with)

1. Start out with dry hair. It can be dirty, clean, curly or straight. (mine’s kind of dirty and kind of curly.)

2. Next tease the crown of your hair. Don’t be shy.

3. Then pull your hair half way up.

4. Take a small strand of hair from the pony tail and wrap it around the hair band. Secure the strand of hair with a bobbi pin underneath the pony tail.

5. Put the rest of your hair into a pony tail. I like it on the side. Like so.

6. Repeating step 4, wrap a small section of the pony around the hair band. Secure the strand of hair with a bobbi pin underneath the pony tail. Voila. Hooray.

Don’t spend too long polishing this updo, part of what makes it pretty and romantic is the wispy stray hairs!

This look works better with long hair, but I still rock it occasionally with my new(ish) shoulder length bob. Here is a picture of me wearing this with my long hair to a wedding. I wrapped large strands of hair around a one inch curling iron before putting it up, and it ended up being a little more formal without being too prommy.

I really like this look with my hair color. I’ve been sporting the Ombre hair that you’ve all likely seen on celebrities like Rachel Bilson, Whitney Port and Alexa Chung. Click here to read more about Ombre hair.

Thanks for having me, Kara! Good luck with this updo and wish me good luck with my pie baking.

Absolutely gorgeous! I am so honored to have had Ms. Reagan here today and I am super excited to try this updo and see how it goes with my curly hair! Thanks Reagan and drop by any time with more beauty tips and tricks!
