FUN NEW FINDS & MOTHER’S DAY BOUQUET

FUN NEW FINDS & MOTHER’S DAY BOUQUET

TO ALL THE MAMMAS OUT THERE!!!!

I am sending out a special virtual Mother’s Day Bouquet to all the moms who do so much, especially my own! Mom, if you are reading this (and I know you are) thank you so much for loving and supporting me and my dreams through all the years! And thanks to ALL you exquisite ladies out there who care so deeply for the loves in your life. I am constantly amazed at how you keep it all together. I don’t know how you do it but you deserve nothing less than praise! The difference you are making is immeasurable! REMEMBER THAT!

This weekend like many I went on a hunt. My Mission: to find forgotten and unappreciated pieces that I can restore to their former glory or just provide the precise setting in which they pop. This week: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!

My best purchase of the weekend and maybe of the year was this well worn table. You will NEVER believe how much I brought this baby home for. . .$10!!! I practically stole it! When a man told me it was probably from the 20’s I fell in love all over again. It definitely needed some TLC but its already shed some years with a good sanding! The goal isn’t for it to look perfect, but priceless!

BEFORE

AFTER (a good set of legs is attractive on women and furniture, don’t you think?)

Soon a colorful stain will cover the surface and allow this piece to draw the attention it deserves.

Other finds:

This painting immediately caught my eye with its moody blue color palette. It’s reminds me of rainy day feelings. I just want to curl up with a blanket and book as I read by candlelight.

The petite white urn is perfect place to display the home grown freshly cut flowers. The contrast created by the two keeps it interesting.

Below:
Ok, confession time. The two birds are not from a garage sale, but frugal finds? Of course!! I got them from Target ($3 each).
Circle frames are few and far between so I snagged this one. Who knows if it will end up with a coat of paint or paired with a mirror.
The small silver container is already serving a pretty important purpose. It is sitting on my bathroom shelf and proves to be safe storage for my wedding ring whenever I need to take it off.

Budget Breakdown:
painting-$1
frame-$1
silver container-$1
birds-$6
urn-$1
TOTAL: $10

My mother has a table that looks just like that! She refinished it probably 30 years ago. She was told that it is an old library table. She probably paid more than $10 for it back then, so what a great find!
