Hey Friends! We have some great posts lined up for you. . .
Your kind words were persuasive, James from the The Cavender Diary sent over a guest post that will be up later this week. He has some great lessons to share, here is a small glimpse.
Dana from “Make Them Wonder” is also stopping by to contribute to our “Inspire Me” series!
. . .but I wanted to start the week out with some great news! Late Saturday night Tim and I got and accepted an offer on our home!!! We feel so blessed and are thrilled to soon be moving on to another chapter in our life!
We still have inspections to go through so nothing is set in stone, but we feel like things are going to work out.

You might remember the post Tim wrote last week about really feeling like God had led us to go ahead and start moving forward with our plans to make a warehouse space downtown our home. Well, we definitely feel like God is working. It was actually a complete accident (aka- God’s hand) that the buyers even looked at our house in the first place.
The couple had told their realtor about a home they wanted to see. They knew the numbers were 1536 but couldn’t remember the street. When the realtor searched MLS there was only one house that matched, ours. So he set up the showing. Soon after, the couple realized ours was not the house they originally wanted to see and was slightly outside the area they had decided to search, but decided they would go ahead and come take a look, just for kicks. Strangely enough ;), they came and fell in love with our home.
Now some people would call that a crazy coincidence, but Tim and I believe that it was all a part of God’s perfect will. We have experienced too many “coincidences” in our life to believe that it is just random luck. We have always prayed that God would work in our lives in a way that would make it impossible for anyone, including us, to take credit for his work. And I like to think that God made the story unusual in order that we could see his hand in it and learn to trust Him more!
I feel like maybe God was waiting to provide an offer on the house until we made the conscious to trust what we felt like He was telling us. We felt like he was telling us to go ahead with the shop plans, but for a while we wanted to rely on the earthly security of knowing our home was sold and we would have money in the bank to support our new endeavor. Now hear this- I am not saying you should go and tank all your money into some random investment. But I am saying if you hear/feel God telling you to act on something, do it! You won’t find this advice in any of Dave Ramsey’s Baby Steps.

I know there will be a lot of people of there who think this advice is wrong but for us, we feel like God was saying, “I don’t want you to find your security in anything but me.” We’ll be a work in progress until the day we get to Heaven, but in this moment we feel beyond secure in the arms of Christ!
Is there a chance this deal could still fall through? Yes. We won’t officially celebrate until the keys are handed over, but are we convinced that God will provide for us one way or another and our peace and joy are not determined by the status of this transaction.

That’s wonderful news Kara! I totally agree with you guys that there are no coincidences and this was definitely the work of God!! I too sometimes struggle with as you called “earthly security” instead of taking that leap of faith, even though I KNOW God will provide for me, as he always has! I look forward to seeing and hearing more your new path, God has blessed you both!
Totally got chills while reading your story. Love it when God’s work is so evident!
Thanks Lisa! There is so much peace knowing we have a God who cares for us deeply and promises to provide everything we need. π
I know, right!? I love when God shows himself to us! Can’t wait to publish your “Inspire Me” post this week!
CONGRATS! Kara this is so amazing! I love that you share your own life events that show God’s hand working in your lives. If everyone took a few minutes to reflect, they would see all of the amazing things that God provides them and leads them to. I totally agree with you! If you feel in your heart and you know that God is telling you something than do it! This is for sure a story that should be a BIG part of the Inspire Me series! <3 Congrats again on the offer! Fingers/toes/arms/legs/eyes crossed for you both! I pray everything goes smoothly and I have no doubt it will π
Congrats! Can’t wait to see your new space and what you do to it!

LOVE this!
All I can think of is ….faith without action is dead…. sometimes you have to act in faith before everything else falls into place otherwise it’s not faith.
The name of my company is Single Stone Studios derived from the David and Goliath story. David collected 5 smooth stones as we walked beside the river on his way down the mountain to face the giant but it was the first stone he throw that God used to defeat the giant. A single Stone. My husband and I call ourselves Stone Throwers – always living with a stone in our hand ready to throw it in the face of our giant when God leads.
Our company was born out of complete desperation. After 18 mos of being unemployed we had only $2000 (of credit – the first time we’d ever been in debt) to tap before there was just nothing left. We paid our mortgage and started a business. I can’t even explain the miracles God has put on our business, our marriage, family and lives because of that one stone we threw! It was a big giant. It fell hard. And is defeated forever! Amen!
Wonderful news! God is so amazing and it is so wonderful to give it all up to Him and watch what He will do with it! Blessings!
Oh my goodness. Iβm a faithful reader and TODAY I gave my two week notice on my blah oil & gas job to take a job that pays less than half but is in the field I want to be in (photography & writing). In making the decision, my husband and I talked about the same EXACT thing you are talking about in this post! That we need to completely rely on the Lord to provide for use (while working our hardest, of course) so that when we are able to make it through it is completely evident that itβs because of him.
This was such a confirming post after walking into my bossβs office this morning and giving my two weeks. Ptl! Thanks for writing this. So inspiring!
Congrats, by the way! God is so good. π
Ahh, thanks Lindsey! You are right, sometimes all we need to brighten our day is a new perspective. π Thanks for reading and thanks for the well wishes!
Thanks Erin! We are excited to share our progress with everyone!
