GREATEST GARAGE SALE DAY IN HISTORY!

GREATEST GARAGE SALE DAY IN HISTORY!
The greatest garage sale day in history happened for me on Saturday. It was rainy and wet here in Tulsa, but the deals I found were worth getting drenched for! Check out these absolutely awesome additions to my ever-growing pile of projects. I am working on the fans today for my Makeover Monday post. Check back later to see their transformations!!
Here are the fabulously old, rusty fans that forced me to fork over $5 a piece. What a great deal, right!!!? I love their shape and oh-so-cool style (literally)! They need some rewiring and an obviously a coat of paint, but with any luck in a couple of hours I’ll be admiring a revamped vintage beauty with my hair blowin’ in the breeze!

Fabulous fans weren’t the only thing I was stuffing my truck with this weekend. Just look at all the goodies I snagged! I was practically drooling as a walked around the estate sales boasting the refined and rough from years past. Among my favorite finds was a old level made of cherry wood. Though it is no longer accurate for hanging pictures, it was the perfect present for my husband who is a wood worker! He had been looking longingly at one in a consignment store priced at $30. His smile was totally worth the $4 I paid for this one!

Here is a close-up of the level. In my mind I try to picture all the pieces it helped to create. I love when there is a story behind the things I bring into my house.

I also scored some super cute mini salt and pepper shakers. I could shine that silver up, but i prefer the aged patina to a perfect polish!
The dark wood rectangle cutting board should add some real charm to my cottage kitchen.
I bought 2 of the clear glasses with wood lids. Once my office is complete they should serve me well holding anything from paper clips to thumb tacks.

I never get tired of a handmade piece of pottery. This neutral ceramic bowl brings in yet another item with history.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE outdoor BBQ’s in the summer. Most of all I love decorating for them! I have designed an outdoor oasis in my backyard and these textural chargers are sure to put the finishing touch on my laid-back summer porch parties!

2 Glass canisters w/ wood lids- $1

Of course there were more treasures that made it into the truck of my car, but I will have to save them for one of those down-in-the-dumps garage sale weekends! 🙂
I decided to join the Thrifty Treasures party over at Rhoda’s Southern Hospitality. Stop on by if you want to join the party and show off your gems or if you didn’t get out this weekend you can live vicariously through everyone else.

Want to get a peek of that outdoor oasis I was talking about? Stay tuned! Within the next week I plan to post plenty of pics!!!
