Inspired Readers and a Few Tips on the Lacy Dresser Project
Hey Friends! I have to say some of my favorite e-mails to get are the ones when people tell me about projects they have been inspired to do after reading the blog. I’ve received a few of those messages lately and I am excited to share few quick photos (and a video) of a few reader undertakings!
The first project comes from a couple of my Anthro inters (Kelly and Kelsey)! They saw our Nate segment and decided they would take on the lace stenciled dresser idea that we demonstrated. Kels and Kelly started with a plain white dresser. . .

and ended up with a gray and pink masterpiece! 🙂

Didn’t they do a fantastic job! You to can do this! It’s really as easy as it looks. For the Nate show they had me demonstrate the spray painting with the drawer sitting on it’s side (for overspray purposes), but when you do this make sure you stand the drawer up on it’s end and just drape the lace over the top of it. This allows the lace to stay in place on it’s own and gives you a very defined finish!

I’ve had lots of people ask about reusing the lace on this project. You can use the same piece of lace for every drawer. The lace dries super fast (like 30 sec) and continues to work as well as the first time every time.

The next two reader projects involve the New Year’s Eve backdrop idea Tim and I shared. Julia has a party every New Year’s and this go around she added the photo backdrop to add another element of fun! Plus, she provided some pretty great props to to make the pictures extra entertaining!

Lastly, the lovely ladies from plant.eat.create decided that they would not only use the backdrop for fun photos but also for a music video of sorts! 🙂 They complied pictures as well as some fantastic footage of them shaking their booties to create a video that makes you want to get out of your seat and just dance! You can watch the video here!

I was so excited when I saw the picture of the chevron print fireplace you posted a few days ago. It inspired me to paint our fireplace. I’m still working on it (having a two year old means projects move pretty slow!) but I will send pictures when I’m done. I don’t think it will look as nice as yours, but I still like it so far.
