AFTER
I also added a shelf and some height (by attaching bun feet which are actually porch finials) that makes the island ideal for preparing food. The extra shelf is also helpful because it creates supplementary storage! You can never have too much storage space, especially in a kitchen.

What a great makeover! The idea of the feet is perfect, nice job.
great tranformation ! really cute kitchen!
Thank you for mentioning how you used the stain to tone down the paint color. I have a furniture painting project in my future and that will be just the right touch.
Wow! What a transformation! I’m impressed. Great job! 🙂
Wow, is that really the cost??? It looks perfect. Keep up the good work.
What did you use for the shelf? Pine? Plywood? Just wondering! Like it! Want to do the same thing.
The shelf is actually made from cabinets I tore out in the old kitchen! I love reusing and recycling. I am not sure what type of wood it is but if you are going to paint it, anything will work!
