This post may not be interesting to everyone, but Tim and I’s trip to the Warner Brothers lot was completely inspiring for two people aspiring to be in show biz. I heard that Jack Lemmon (an actor whose career started in the late 40’s) used to say “It’s magic time” before he would start acting each day. He believed that movies were an escape for people. In the theater or on their own comfortable couch, people could forget about their problems and get lost in a story for a couple of hours. We definitely felt that “magic” on the WB lot.
This is the wood working shop on the lot. At any point in time, dozens of movies and television shows are being filmed at Warner Brothers. Any props, furniture, set stuff that needs to be built is created here in this humongous shop!
They also have a number of prop shops. Can you imagine a whole building dedicated to lighting (lamps, chandeliers, sconces, ect) from all different eras? Or an entire warehouse full of accessories? These places do exist on the Warner Brothers lot or Heaven as I like to call it!! 🙂
I seriously wanted to smuggle one of these busts out. Apparently I am kind of in love with concrete forms of random people’s heads. Is that weird?
By far THE BEST part of the lot was walking by Ellen’s studio. I walked as slowly as possible hoping that I would spy my favorite celebrity. FYI- there are 3 celebrities that I want to meet- Dolly Parton, Jillian Michaels, and Ellen.
Anyway, I watch Ellen’s show often and was really hoping I would see her walking along, I would introduce myself, we would become best friends, and she would invite me to be her “special show designer” (you know like Nate Berkus was for Oprah). 🙂 That could happen, right? Well unfortunately it didn’t, but I did get to take a picture with Ellen. . . or at least I got to take a picture with a picture of Ellen. 🙂
And here I am expressing my heartfelt love for the incredible Ellen. Funny people have always been my favorite people.
We also got to see a little sneak peak of The Green Lantern (starring Ryan Reynolds) that will be coming out sometime this summer. Should be a good one!
‘Till tomorrow people!

How cool would it be to go “shopping” there?!
I love Ellen too. I also like your dream job. You should write her. Send in a link to this post. Hey, you never know!
I want to go real shopping there!! All that stuff, I would be in heaven!
Maybe I will do that Yanet! 🙂
I loved going on a Warner Bros. lot tour. It is magical! It would be so fun to help make movies.
