Hello, hello! My goodness, I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday! I’ve been having those “life’s passing me by way too quickly” feelings lately. I caught a glimpse of Betty White’s birthday celebration on TV Monday night. There were a few times when people said something like “I don’t doubt we’ll be here celebrating 100 in 10 years.” Those statements really made me think.
I hope Betty does reach 100, but I wonder what it’s like to know there’s a good chance you have less that 10 years to live? None of us are guaranteed tomorrow, but I wonder how I would live if I knew that I only had 10 years left. I love what I do, but sometimes I forget to enjoy the process and instead focus on the deadline. I definitely need to spend more time with friends and family. . . and less time with the television! I don’t think about death often, but the moments when I start to worry about life ending here on earth I have to remind myself that Heaven is going to be so much better than this! Such an important thing to remember especially when life is rough but also when things are going well. One thing is for sure- Life is too short to spend it doing something you’re not passionate about. So figure out what it is you love and live out what you were created to do! I believe with all my heart that the Lord wants that for each and every one of us!
So on to what I love to do. . . Tim and I are in the process of designing an elegant yet casual (yes, this is possible!) dining room. Things are really starting to come together and so I thought I would post a few sneak peak photos to get you excited! (I know I still haven’t posted finished photos from the last sneak peak I did, but sit tight they’re coming at you next week!)
Above- Beautiful wood feature wall highlighted with sunburst mirror. Below- New DIY chandelier!!!
Below- Some sweet fans we found for an amazing price. . .they just needed a small modification- we’ll fill you in soon!
Well, that’s it for today. I’ve got to get to work! Tim’s checking in tomorrow! Bye Y’all!

Amen. Heaven will be SO much better!
I LOVE that chandilier! Are you going to post a tutorial on how to do that?
That is just beautiful!
I cant wait til your finished Kara! The more I sit in that room, the more I love it! Natalie just smiles when she looks at that chandelier! Just stunnung!
I love Betty White! She looks amazing for being 90! Life just goes faster and faster, my grandma used to tell me that all the time growing up and now I see that it’s true. You all have defiantly found your passion and are using your talents, I have put mine to good use in the past few months and it’s wonderful. Oh…and I love the DIY chandelier, I love coming back to your blog because you all consistently deliever awesome new ideas…even if I feel like I am talking to myself by commenting 😉 Have a good one!
Hey Jill! Yes, I will be posting a tutorial for the chandelier so stay tuned! 🙂
Sharlette, I love hearing that both you and Natalie are pleased with how things are coming along! If my work can make someone smile every time they look it. . . that brings great joy to my heart! It was so nice to talk with you and get to know you the other day- I hope we’ll be seeing more of each other! 🙂
Hey DeAnn! You’re grandma was so right! I love hearing you have put your talents and passions to work! I love showing people how they can design and DIY stuff, but I really hope I am able to encourage others to do what they love for a living! Your SIP Project idea is just wonderful! What a great way to reach your community! Where do you live? Please don’t feel like you’re talking to yourself. . . although I can’t reply to every comment I do read all of them and I really appreciate knowing others enjoy what I’m doing.
I love the chandelier, and the starburst is a little different from what’s out there… I really like the thin ‘bursts’- what do you call those things?
Ooo I love that chandelier! Can’t wait to see more pics!
I am also VERY excited to see more about that awesome chandelier!
