Having a little trouble uploading my other two big backyard reveal videos, so check out this MAJOR MUSICAL MAKEOVER to keep your creative juices flowing!
Take a look at the before and after’s. The transformation is almost unbelievable.
When the budget gets a little bigger, Amanda and I would love to add a beautiful, ornate crystal chandelier that would be perfectly reflected in the mirror above the fireplace! Oh, I can just see it now!
The chairs used to be a dark wood color. By painting them pink, the gold seems glamorous instead of old and antique.
A number of colorful vases and candle sticks pop off the grayish background.
Amanda didn’t want to have records all over the wall, but she did want to hint at what happens here. A couple of instrumental close-ups are just enough.
Here is a better look of the coffee table.
And don’t you L-O-V-E, LOVE this zebra print rug. It is so fun and sophisticated at the same time!
Here is a photo of the room at night. It puts off the kind of heavenly glow.
Below: Another before and after for ya! The after is at night, so it doesn’t seem quite as bright as it really is.
Below: An extra night shot looking through the store front picture window.
Below: Office before and after.
Above: We had to close up some door and walk ways to allow for the privacy of different musical lessons.
I free handed this pattern from our inspiration pillow found at Pier 1. I went crazy over its graphic nature!
And since its the first mural I have ever done start to finish I had to (with Amanda’s urging) take credit and do some signing.
This sunny chair looks so cheerful with its yellow color. The dingy dark wood only needed a little paint to make ideal seating for this kid-friendly, but still sophisticated environment.
This oversized apple is a great accessory for music teacher Amanda and it’s fun color fits right in!
That’s all folks! Remember I have a CLEAN SLATE date from Thursday to Saturday, so I won’t be posting, but I will be sure to share all the fun that occurs this weekend on Monday!

Kara this room turned out wonderful. I love all the bright, cheerful colors.
stop over from your newest post you did about this room- it is amazing!!! I’m redoing my daughters room and she wants a music theme with a lot of spunk! Glad to see that i’ve made a few similar choices and will have to show her this room as our inspiration photo!! thanks for sharing! 😉
LOVE this make over. I would have never thought to paint all the trim black, but it absolutely works. It not only works, but it makes everything else pop. Great work.
