Mason Jars, Makeovers, and More

Hey Friends!  Today is another hod podge post full of random, but good stuff!

Long time readers may remember our canning jar chandelier. Yes, we’ve had an affinity for mason jars and all their amazing uses for a while now.

Well, did you know that 2013 marks the 100th anniversary of the first series of jars designed by Ball brothers. 1913 saw the launch of the first true”Perfect Mason” jar. Well, now you can buy these limited edition jars, which feature period-correct blue color and embossed logos on the front and back.

I did an online consultation for a lovely young lady a while back and she recently sent me some pictures of the designs she completed.  Those pictures included the IKEA dresser that she revamped.  She started with this NYVOLL dresser. . .

and then added a little funk and flair with metallic tiles (commonly used for back splashes). . .

Very nice, right!? Find the tiles at Home Depot or Lowes!  PS- Did you know IKEA now ships?  This would be great news except their rates are pretty ridiculous!  Bummer! :/

I love Chinese food!  And I loved this fortune as well. I actually think your best investment is in the kingdom of God, but I appreciate what this fortune is saying.  Believe in yourself and use whatever resources you have to make your dreams come true!

What does a dismantled football have to do with design?

Stay tuned to find out!! 😉

Oh, and a few weeks ago someone asked for an update on my hair.  Well, this pic was taken this weekend.  You can see that the color has faded (as predicted).  But I actually like the faded color more than the fresh color.  It is lilac on some strands, a little more purple on others, and kind of a dirty purply blonde on the tips.  My favorite comments so far have been, “It looks so classy!” and “I’ve never seen hair with so many color variations in it. It’s awesome!”  I know not everyone will agree, but I love it!
