I am one lucky gal. My father has provided everything I need: shelter, food, and love for the past 25 years. But he didn’t stop there, no he went much further. My father instilled in me courage. Courage to go after my dreams. He taught me that confidence isn’t something your born with, but something you develop with hours upon hours of hard work. He told me I could do anything I wanted to do and be anything I wanted to be if I was willing to sacrifice and work for it.
The lessons he taught me and the words he motivated me with allowed me (a 5’2″ white girl) to become a professional basketball player. And now his words from my childhood and present day give me the courage to follow my designing dreams. He urged me to set goals and let nothing get in my way of achieving excellence. He stirred a passion in me that only accepts 110% and NEVER gives up. What I am, I owe to him. And I am so thankful for his influence in my life. DAD, I LOVE YOU AND THANK YOU!
