Has anybody noticed how many good TV shows are airing right now? Tim and I have a full line up that we try to stay up on. Rather than appall you by listing all the shows we watch, I’ll just say one of my new favorites is “SMASH!” Other than a great story line and amazing singing, the show also has something else that caught my eye. . .
Do you see it? That wallpaper I mean. . . I want it.
I’ve been trying to track down the source of the wallpaper since seeing it, but I’ve had no luck so far. If you have any leads for me, please leave a comment!
Anyway, after searching numerous wallpaper sites I had the idea that some of you might like to have a list of places I go to look for great wallpapers. In case you haven’t heard, wall paper is back in style and the patterns you can find right now are truly amazing! The hard part is finding affordable wallpaper. I’ve tried to add a couple of very budget friendly options within the mix today.
First up, Farrow and Ball. This site has a great selection and their patterns come in tons of different colors so you can find one perfect for your color palette. The only problem here is the prices are pretty steep for the average homeowner.
So let’s look at an affordable option. Urban Outfitters has a very limited selection and their options can be hit or miss depending on the season, but their prices are doable for almost any budget!
I’ve found this “Frame” wallpaper that you can customize (by drawing on it or attaching photos to it) on clearance at Urban’s site around Christmas. I only paid $25/roll!
Another great pick up from Urban happened when I grabbed this paintable wallpaper you see above the bed pictured below. I put a gray base coat down and then wiped a gold glaze over the top. I picked this stunning style up for $40 a roll about a year ago
So, check Urban’s site often and you’re sure to eventually find some great options!
Another place to scope out great papers is Graham and Brown. They have a great range of prices and plenty of styles to choose from.
A great thing to note on this site is the $50 or less category! I saw a few that a am currently considering!
Of course Anthropologie generally carries some great patterns. I actually stockpiled a few of their patterns during an “after christmas” sale. I was happy to pay about $50 a roll because I know I will get to use them one day for an awesome project!
Finally there is Hygge and West. I really like sites that do all the sifting for you and pull out some of the best designs. Hygge and West doesn’t have the quantity that some of the other sites do, but I literally love every pattern they sell!
Lowes (their new “allen + roth” line has some attractive options), Home Depot, and Sherwin Williams all sell wallpaper as well and have great prices, but I find you have to wade through a lot of ugly designs to find the gems.
So, those are my top wallpaper sources. Do you have any wallpaper sourcing secrets you’d like to share?!

Great list! I can definitely tell you one company NOT to buy from – 1800wallpaper.com/interiorandgarden.com. They are awful, customer service is terrible, and they never have any idea where their inventory is. I had one of the worst buying experiences with them ever (ordered online, the next day they tell me they’re out of stock so it had to come “From a boat in china” and then I had to harass them to get answers to where it was. Finally, over a month later, they ship it to me without anything other than a very lame apology.
http://www.stevesblindsandwallpaper.com/ has great prices (and not great pics) but if you are looking for something specific – check their prices first.
There are some really awesome wallpapers out there. I would love to use some of them for projects but I don’t know if I could ever put it a wall!! I’ve taken off too much nasty wallpaper and I like to change things out too often. But I won’t say never!!!!!
