Hello friends! Please forgive my absence from the blog the last few days! Tim and I spent the last 5 days in my favorite place in the world- New York City!
As much as I wanted to sit down and write a blog post for you, my heart was more into taking in every bit of inspiration and energy from the city as possible! We had so much fun on our trip and we are back and feeling like we can take on our projects with more vigor than ever! Our main reason for heading to NYC will still need to remain a mystery due to some silly rules that we agreed to. 🙁
As you can imagine, the inspiration in NYC is never ending! I took plenty of photos to share so that you too could be inspired! Tim and I love that every single little shop takes so much pride in their decor and presentation. From the smallest little crepe shop to the Anthropologie windows in Rockefeller Center, my creativity was sparked by all the inventive and just plain beautiful ideas!
I’ll begin and end this whole NYC series with what is still my favorite store ever – Anthropolgie. They are simply the best at inventive, artistic design and I find so much inspiration there. I throughly enjoyed providing the inspiration during my time at Anthro as the Display Coordinator (you can find my displays here), but I am pleased as punch to be back as a consumer of the inspiration. So here’s where I’m going to zip my lips and let the pictures due the talking.
Display created with fluorescent tube lights.
This one was created with a ton of zip ties.
Tin foil creates quite a center piece!
Glass jars lit from behind is just gorgeous!
Hexagon shapes attached together create a great dome like effect.
Photo slides painted and lit from behind create a super cool piece of art!
There’s a whole lot more where this came from as well as more attainable design ideas right around the corner! Tune back in tomorrow!

welcome back!
These displays are amazing. I think the aluminum foil idea could somehow be incorporated into a home holiday display. Hmmmm….. I’ve always wanted to do something Anthro-ish in my home. Christmas might just be the time!
Thanks Lisa! It’s good to be back! Oh my goodness, I do hope you will do a Christmas display with the aluminum foil! I would love to see what you come up with! 🙂
so fun! thanks for the inspiration. can’t wait to see more.
